Shape your sound

Voices, sustain, EQ and a per-track filter.

What you'll learn

  • Swap the instrument voice
  • Use sustain
  • Adjust the EQ
  • Give a track its own voice and filter

The steps

Read them here, or press Play along and the studio will walk you through them.

  1. Change the voice

Open the Instrument tab and pick a different voice — try Grand Piano, an acoustic guitar or a synth pad. You can swap mid-performance.

  2. Switch on sustain

Turn on Sustain so notes keep ringing after you change chords, like holding a piano pedal.

  3. Adjust the EQ

Open Sound / EQ and drag the low, mid or high band to taste. Reset puts everything back.

  4. Darken one track

In the Session tab, switch on LP for a track in the Layers strip and drag its cutoff down to muffle just that part.
